Senior Pricing Manager (Legal Services)

Location: Fully virtual work schedule; primary location Palo Alto, with other U.S. locations listed. Pacific or Mountain time zone preferred.

Salary: $163,200–$220,800 per year in Palo Alto, New York, and San Francisco; $147,050–$198,950 per year in Austin, Boston, Boulder, Century City, Delaware, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle, and other locations.

What you will do

• Lead pricing requests and oversee analysts directly or indirectly.
• Develop pricing strategies, alternative fee arrangements, and tailored solutions for clients and attorneys.
• Support annual client rate reviews and negotiations across seniority tiers, geographies, and practice areas.
• Build and refine pricing, profitability, reporting, and comparable-analysis models.
• Partner with Finance, IT, Business Development, Pricing Operations, and Legal Project Management on data-driven workflows and technology solutions.
• Conduct market analyses and present strategic recommendations to senior management and lawyer leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
• 7+ years of financial analysis and/or pricing experience in professional services, including at least 2 years in the legal industry.
• Extensive financial modeling experience and the ability to maintain complex spreadsheets.
• Experience developing pricing strategies, analyzing large datasets, and presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, delegation, negotiation, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adjust working hours according to workload demands; Pacific or Mountain time zone preferred.

Nice to have

• MBA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with litigation, regulatory and compliance, antitrust, patents, or technology transactions.
• Proficiency with SQL, VBA, Power BI, and Aderant.
• Familiarity with Legal Project Management practices.
• Experience with AI and machine learning applications for pricing optimization.
