Software Engineer (NodeJS, React)

Location: Budapest, Hungary. Hybrid work model with onsite work at least 50% of the time for employees within commuting distance of a hirify.global office.

What you will do

• Build and deliver secure, scalable serverless microservices and AI-powered features for the Risk Manager platform.
• Design and implement production LLM integrations, agentic workflows, and tool-use patterns.
• Own services end to end, from architecture and implementation through monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Deliver stories independently, participate in code reviews, strengthen testing practices, and maintain service stability.
• Guide junior engineers and contribute to architectural discussions, documentation, and Agile improvements.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience in an Agile environment.
• Experience building RESTful APIs with Node.js and TypeScript, using Docker, Git, and SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience building component-based web interfaces with React.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and familiarity with serverless development.
• Understanding of LLM concepts including tokens, context length, embeddings, hallucinations, safe use cases, privacy, security, fairness, and cost.
• Ability to communicate architectural decisions, document designs, and present technical ideas clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience with infrastructure as code using CDK or Terraform.
• Experience or interest in CI/CD pipeline setup and AI-assisted DevOps tooling.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
