Senior Software Engineer (Node.js, React, AI)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work with onsite attendance at least 50% of the time

What you will do

• Design, build, and own secure, scalable microservices and AWS serverless services.
• Architect and deliver AI-powered product features, including LLM integrations, agentic workflows, tool-use patterns, RAG pipelines, and intelligent automation.
• Drive architectural decisions and evaluate trade-offs across reliability, performance, resilience, productivity, and cost.
• Embed monitoring, compliance, governance, observability, and incident-response capabilities into engineering workflows.
• Partner with Product, Security, DevOps, and other teams on feature delivery, deployment, and compliance.
• Mentor peers and pilot emerging engineering and AI toolchains, including Claude Code and agentic coding workflows.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience in an agile environment.
• Strong Node.js and TypeScript experience building RESTful APIs with OpenAPI, plus strong React experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS serverless patterns, infrastructure as code with CDK or Terraform, Docker, CI/CD, and monitoring tools.
• Experience with SQL/PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design and performance optimization.
• Understanding of LLM concepts, prompt engineering, AI-assisted development, ethical and cost risks, privacy, and safe AI use.
• Knowledge of application and deployment security practices such as IAM and secrets management, with proven mentoring and communication skills.
