Software Engineer II (TypeScript)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Hybrid work model with onsite work required at least 50% of the time for employees within commuting distance of a hirify.global office.

Salary: CAD 90,000–107,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design and build secure, scalable full-stack services using TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda, SQS, and API Gateway.
• Develop event-driven microservices with strong observability and production alerting.
• Own services from implementation and deployment through production support and operational improvements.
• Build infrastructure as code with AWS CDK and improve safe, frequent CI/CD releases.
• Design RESTful APIs with clear contracts and maintainable versioning.
• Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and contribute to architecture discussions and documentation.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of professional software engineering experience in an agile, full-stack-focused environment.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals, including request lifecycles, data persistence, error handling, and readable code.
• Professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, SQL, and REST API design.
• Understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices.
• Cloud awareness, preferably with AWS, including managed services, scalability, and infrastructure ownership.
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code concepts, and an AI-native development workflow.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, S3, SQS, or DynamoDB.
• Practical experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar tools.
• Experience with event buses, pub/sub, EventBridge, or related platform patterns.
• Experience with identity or entitlement systems such as OAuth 2.0, SCIM, or OIDC.
• Familiarity with MCP, AI-integrated full-stack services, or multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
