Policy & Regulatory Affairs Manager (AI & Energy)

Location: Hybrid role based in Washington D.C., Boston, or the Bay Area, with two work-from-home days per week

What you will do

• Monitor and analyze policy developments across energy, infrastructure, AI, and technology jurisdictions.
• Translate regulatory changes into business impact assessments and actionable recommendations.
• Help develop policy strategy by identifying risks, opportunities, and engagement priorities.
• Draft briefing notes, consultation responses, position papers, and executive memos.
• Engage regulators, policymakers, industry associations, partners, and other external stakeholders.
• Coordinate policy alignment across legal, product, operations, and leadership teams, and support advocacy initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in public policy, government, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of regulatory processes and stakeholder landscapes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
• Experience drafting policy documents or participating in regulatory processes.
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment, influence without authority, and work cross-functionally.
• Relevant experience in energy, infrastructure, AI, or technology sectors.

Nice to have

• Experience working with state Public Utility Commissions or the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
• Experience with Independent System Operators or Regional Transmission Organizations, such as PJM or ERCOT.
• Direct engagement with regulators or government officials.
• Experience at a high-growth or scaling organization.
