Associate IV, Growth & Strategy

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland; 5 days in office. Standard hours are 8:00am–5:00pm ET, Monday–Friday. Travel expectation: 10% as needed.

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop corporate strategy and analyze new markets, business ventures, customer-facing services, capital formation, M&A opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
• Build and maintain reliable financial models for infrastructure and energy investments, including sensitivity cases and long-term decision support.
• Collaborate with engineering, commercial, financial, and executive teams to improve project cost, schedule, and technical or commercial viability.
• Develop business cases, respond to RFIs, and help structure deals involving financing and off-take components.
• Prepare executive, investor, and Board of Directors presentations and materials.
• Improve modeling tools, templates, and processes while supporting junior team members and driving alignment across stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
• Typically 10 years of experience in investment banking, project finance, consulting, infrastructure, private equity, or a capital-intensive operating company; an MBA with relevant experience may substitute for general work experience.
• Strong Excel modeling skills, including building models from scratch and creating sensitivity analyses.
• Strong PowerPoint skills and experience creating executive- and Board-level presentation decks.
• Experience with strategy development, market and competitor analysis, opportunity evaluation, business case development, and communicating complex financial insights.
• Ability to work five days per week in the Gaithersburg, Maryland office during standard Eastern Time office hours.
