What you will do

• Architect, design, and develop optical and photonic systems for next-generation quantum computers.
• Define enabling technologies and develop roadmaps for scaling quantum computing systems.
• Track external technology development and state-of-the-art research for internal planning.
• Lead development and design projects with suppliers.
• Communicate trade studies, design concepts, and technology impacts to technical, leadership, and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate across hardware, QEC/theory, and applications teams.

Requirements

• PhD degree, or completion before the start date.
• At least 4 years of experience, including PhD experience, in qubits, atomic physics, optics, lasers, photonic integrated circuits, vacuum systems, electronics, or cryogenics.
• Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or worker granted asylum or refugee status.
• Due to U.S. Government national security requirements, candidates must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless also a U.S. citizen.
• Strong scientific communication, technical writing, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with quantum computing is valued.
