TL;DR
Software Configuration Management Lead (Aerospace): Developing and operating software configuration management systems, plans, processes, and documentation for aircraft development and FAA certification with an accent on configuration traceability, auditability, and change control. Focus on administering Problem Resolution and Change Review Boards, defining software and hardware configuration effectivity, and maintaining compliant aircraft configurations throughout the product lifecycle.

Location: South Burlington, Vermont, United States; onsite role.

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 USD per year.

What you will do

  • Co-develop and implement aerospace software configuration management plans, processes, and documentation for new aircraft platforms.
  • Maintain type and production design configurations throughout the full service life of aircraft products.
  • Produce complete software configurations and asset builds to support FAA and other authority audits.
  • Administer and coordinate Problem Resolution and Change Review Boards.
  • Define change scope and effectivity for hardware, software, aircraft, and verification assets.
  • Develop the software configuration management team and train stakeholders on relevant processes and systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace configuration management and/or program management.
  • Background in supply chain, quality, or engineering, with an understanding of how these functions interact with configuration management.
  • Experience with FAA certification and compliance requirements related to software configuration management.
  • Knowledge of ARP 4754A and EIA-649, plus experience with RTCA DO-178C or RTCA DO-254 configuration management requirements.
  • Relevant engineering or quality education, preferably a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, and commitment to safety through quality.

Nice to have

  • Administration experience with ALM systems such as Polarion and PLM systems such as 3DExperience or equivalent platforms.
  • End-to-end experience with certification and launch of newly developed aircraft products.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause corrective-action investigation experience.
  • Experience managing thousands of changes within a test program.
