Buyer (Manufacturing): Executing procure-to-pay activities for direct materials, components, production supplies, and other manufacturing requirements with an accent on supplier coordination, purchase orders, and production continuity. Focus on negotiating commercial terms, preventing delivery and supply disruptions, and improving cost, lead time, inventory, and procurement processes.
Location: Research Triangle Park, NC; must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities

What you will do
- Execute purchasing activities for direct materials, components, production supplies, and manufacturing requirements.
- Create, maintain, track, and close purchase orders while ensuring accurate commercial terms and on-time delivery.
- Lead RFQs and RFPs, compare supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing, quantities, lead times, payment terms, and freight arrangements.
- Translate production plans and MRP demand into purchasing actions with Planning and Manufacturing.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Operations, Finance, and Accounts Payable to resolve specifications, shipping, receiving, invoice, and payment issues.
- Support supplier corrective actions and identify opportunities for cost reduction, lead-time improvement, inventory optimization, and process improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, materials management, or a related role, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience purchasing direct materials, components, or production-related goods and services.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar analytical tools for organizing and analyzing purchasing and supplier data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and aggressive production ramp schedules.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
