Field Engineering Technician II (3D Printing)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; on-site field work with travel outside Austin, including extended assignments, on-call shifts, nights, and weekends

What you will do

• Commission, maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot Titan 3D printing systems in the field.
• Connect and disconnect electrical, pneumatic, and network cabling to support printer mobility.
• Resolve electrical, mechanical, software, and related system issues and identify recurring root causes.
• Document troubleshooting, component replacements, maintenance work, and shift handoffs in the ticketing system.
• Monitor printer data, perform preventive maintenance, and proactively reduce downtime.
• Coordinate complex tasks with Print Operators and other technicians while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Field Technician or in an equivalent hands-on technical role.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and terminate cables, including camlock power and EtherCAT cables.
• Strong spoken and written communication, documentation, planning, prioritization, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
• Ability to work in extreme outdoor conditions, lift 50 pounds, and operate in fast-paced environments.
• Must be available for travel outside Austin, extended field assignments, on-call work, nights, and weekends.

Nice to have

• Advanced proficiency with PLCs, VFDs, electrical troubleshooting, equipment replacement, and manual controls.
• Experience with remote device operation, system navigation, SOPs, workflows, and team instructions.
• Experience with different types of welding.
