Sr. Engineering Technician – EMI/EMC Testing

Location: On-site in Mojave, California, United States. Travel as needed, less than 5%.

Salary: $48.60–$63.75 per hour.

What you will do

• Operate EMI/EMC test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, antennas, LISNs, and signal generators.
• Perform radiated and conducted emissions and immunity testing against MIL-STD-461, FCC, CISPR, and IEC 61000 requirements.
• Execute pre-compliance and full-compliance testing, document results, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support thermal, vibration, and shock testing and troubleshoot electrical, avionics, and EMI/EMC ground-test issues.
• Design, manufacture, and operate electrical ground-support equipment and EMI/EMC test setups.
• Create drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions for aircraft electrical and avionics installation or modification.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with EMI/EMC testing, test equipment, and interpretation of results.
• Experience integrating aircraft or launch-vehicle electrical power systems and installing aircraft electrical systems.
• Experience creating shop work instructions, wiring diagrams, and drawings.
• Experience developing complex aerospace systems and communicating technical issues to varied audiences.
• Proficiency with Siemens Capital Logic/Harness or equivalent, oscilloscopes, multimeters, AC/DC power supplies, signal generators, 3D CAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong relevant engineering experience or 10+ years as a technician in a relevant discipline, with strong CAD and EMI/EMC testing proficiency.

Nice to have

• Environmental testing experience, including thermal and vibration testing.
• Security clearance.
• Specialized EMI/EMC techniques such as time-domain scan and real-time scan.
• Siemens Capital/Mentor Graphics, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, Curtiss-Wright IADS, LabVIEW, or Jira experience.
