Network Engineer (OT/IT)

Location: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, United States. Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure across office and manufacturing environments using Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti UniFi.
• Design and maintain segmented IT/OT networks for industrial control systems, PLCs, and manufacturing-floor devices.
• Implement network security controls, firewalls, VLANs, ACLs, micro-segmentation, VPNs, and least-privilege remote access.
• Monitor network health, troubleshoot outages, and perform root-cause analysis across IT and OT environments.
• Maintain network diagrams, configuration baselines, change logs, and system security plans for compliance assessments.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and IT teams and support audits, CMMC assessments, and government contract reviews.

Requirements

• 3+ years of network engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing, defense, or a government-regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience with converged OT/IT networks, ICS/SCADA architecture, and industrial protocols including Modbus, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET.
• Direct hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti UniFi switching, wireless, and gateway platforms.
• Working knowledge of NIST 800-171, CMMC, network-level security controls, BGP, OSPF, spanning tree, VLANs, QoS, and SD-WAN concepts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in a manufacturing environment, and perform cable runs, rack installations, and equipment mounting.
• U.S. Person status is required for access to export-controlled information or facilities.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal contractors, DoD programs, CUI handling, or ITAR/EAR-controlled environments.
• Experience preparing for or supporting CMMC assessments.
• CCNA, CCNP, Meraki ECMS, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+ certification.
