Maintenance Technician (San Francisco)

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States; onsite warehouse environment

Compensation: $40–$45 per hour

What you will do

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, material handling equipment, automated equipment, tools, buildings, and grounds.
• Inspect, diagnose, evaluate, and repair equipment and infrastructure in an e-commerce fulfillment facility.
• Coordinate daily maintenance priorities with management and lead technicians.
• Record completed work, used parts, task duration, and work-order details in assigned software.
• Read specifications, diagrams, manuals, and engineering procedures to complete accurate repairs.
• Maintain parts and tool inventories, follow applicable safety procedures and codes, and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, and facilities in industrial settings.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, diagrams, and schedules, and to write reports and procedures.
• Ability to respond effectively to questions from staff, managers, and technical representatives.
• Computer proficiency with Google Suite, Slack, Microsoft Visual Studio, command prompts, ClickUp, and similar applications.
• Ability to use hand tools, work at elevated heights with fall protection, and operate in areas with moving machinery, electrical hazards, fumes, heat, humidity, and vibration.
• Availability for on-call or standby work, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Practical problem-solving skills in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram-based, and schedule-based instructions.
• Ability to identify, mitigate, and correct unsafe conditions.
• Experience working independently and collaboratively while prioritizing assignments and meeting deadlines.
• Comfort applying geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
