Lead Reliability Engineer (BMS & Controls)

What you will do

• Serve as the technical authority for BMS and controls logic, Sequence of Operations, and enterprise telemetry across the data center fleet.
• Analyze BMS and EPMS trend data during high-severity incidents to identify automation failures, false sensor readings, PID tuning issues, and cascading failures.
• Review drawings, contract documents, customer requirements, controls logic, and Sequence of Operations for new capital projects.
• Issue Engineering Change Orders and establish controls standards to prevent recurring failures and reduce enterprise SLA risk.
• Audit active facility control systems, manual overrides, alarm behavior, and telemetry compliance with fleet-wide reliability requirements.
• Validate new control sequences in a virtual environment and provide executive incident summaries and Tier-3 escalation support.

Requirements

• 8+ years of operational experience in data centers, or a relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years of critical facility exposure.
• Subject Matter Expert-level experience with BMS and controls equipment and systems.
• Expert knowledge of PLC/DDC logic, industrial communication protocols, and tuning complex systems for large-scale chiller plants.
• Experience analyzing Sequence of Operations, design parameters, alarms, indicators, and performance trends to reverse-engineer failures.
• Ability to create operational standards and programs and communicate complex technical topics to varied technical audiences and senior leadership.
