DevSecOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: On-site in Arlington, Virginia, United States. Limited to U.S. citizens; eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance is required.

Salary: $159,000–$195,000 base annually; estimated total compensation of $204,000–$263,000 annually, including target bonus and estimated equity.

What you will do

• Own runtime security and vulnerability management across cloud and container environments.
• Design least-privilege identity and access management across AWS and internal systems.
• Manage secrets, credentials, certificate issuance, policy-as-code, and developer-facing security tooling.
• Lead security incident response, including detection, containment, root-cause analysis, post-mortems, and remediation.
• Manage AWS Organizations, account boundaries, service control policies, and security guardrails.
• Harden CI/CD pipelines, embed security scanning into software delivery, and drive compliance evidence and remediation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, platform security, or a related security engineering role.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS, including IAM, SCPs, Organizations, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudTrail.
• Strong Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience, including policy-as-code or continuous compliance checks.
• Production experience with secrets management, CI/CD hardening, GitHub Actions, container security, image scanning, and runtime controls.
• Experience contributing to compliance programs, incident response, on-call operations, and post-mortem remediation; CMMC Level 2 or NIST SP 800-171 experience is strongly preferred.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience growing a DevSecOps or security engineering function.
• Familiarity with the LGTM observability stack, Ansible, or developer-facing security platforms.
• Interest in progressing into a lead or manager role as the team scales.
