Production Specialist (Solder)

Location: Simsbury, Connecticut, United States; onsite. Travel required 0–25%. Due to U.S. export-control requirements, candidates must provide proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent U.S. residency, or protected-individual status.

What you will do

• Hand-solder surface-mount electronic components and Surface Acoustic Wave devices onto printed circuit boards.
• Fabricate wiring harnesses, cable and connector assemblies, and install PCBs into module cases.
• Inspect purchased and manufactured components and assemblies before and after assembly tasks.
• Document inspection results in the Work Order Event Database and report discrepancies.
• Sign off travelers and transfer completed products to Inventory or Test.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and perform assigned production tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience involving assembly and soldering.
• Experience using a microscope and hands-on experience with electronics manufacturing, materials, and processing.
• Ability to use Microsoft Windows, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 25 lbs and carry 15 lbs; the role involves standing, walking, reaching, handling, and working around others.

Nice to have

• IPC J-STD-001 certification.
• Experience using a magnification lamp.
• Knowledge of or experience with Lean Manufacturing.
