Senior Electrical Engineer I (Robotics)

hirify.global develops robotic construction systems and proprietary 3D-printing technology for serial production, including the Titan platform.

What you will do

• Lead electrical hardware architecture and integration for large-scale robotic construction systems, including boom arms, gantry rails, mobile tread systems, and the BuildOS control platform.
• Integrate automated mixing, pumping, and extrusion equipment, optimizing sensor feedback for material flow, pressure, and environmental monitoring.
• Design electrical systems, panels, cable harnesses, schematics, P&IDs, and enclosure solutions from prototype through commercialization and serial production.
• Architect PLC/PAC and motion-control hardware, troubleshoot Beckhoff/EtherCAT and Rockwell systems, and coordinate interfaces with robotic arm controllers.
• Implement machine-safety and construction-site compliance measures, including ISO 10218, ISO 13849, UL508A, NFPA 79, UL2011, and NFPA 70 requirements.
• Lead root-cause analysis, DFM initiatives, manufacturing support, and technical mentoring for engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with 8+ years of related experience; or a Master's with 6+ years; or a Ph.D. with 3+ years.
• Experience leading engineering development efforts and delivering complex industrial designs from prototyping through final product delivery and serial production.
• Expertise in industrial electrical equipment, cable harnesses, electrical panels, long-run high-flex mobile applications, and real-time PLC systems.
• Advanced knowledge of UL508A and industrial electrical design practices, with the ability to read and create ANSI- and ISO-compliant schematics.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical Schematics, SolidWorks Electrical 3D, and required Product Data Management tools.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, controls, and software system interrelationships, plus strong communication and prioritization skills in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience designing electrical systems for robotics, mechatronics, or large-scale automation platforms.
• Experience with ISO 10218, ISO 13849, industrial safety systems, Lean Six Sigma, and Design for Manufacturing.
• Startup experience and a demonstrated ability to innovate and optimize processes in dynamic environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, controls, and mechanical systems.
