TL;DR
Specialist, Diagnostic and Commissioning Engineer (Automotive): Developing and integrating vehicle commissioning concepts for electric trucks and SUVs with an accent on software flashing, ECU configuration, immobilizer systems, secure diagnostics, and backend integration. Focus on coordinating pre-series and series production commissioning, troubleshooting vehicle systems, and improving quality, cost, and production cycle time.

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel required.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

  • Plan, develop, and integrate electronic vehicle commissioning concepts for software flashing, ECU configuration, immobilizer systems, and secure vehicle diagnostics.
  • Ensure end-to-end functionality across in-vehicle technologies and required backend systems.
  • Coordinate commissioning plans, project scope, and timelines across pre-series and series production phases.
  • Represent production concept changes within cross-functional project teams and track technical changes across diagnostics, security, and vehicle architectures.
  • Integrate commissioning concepts into production process planning and develop related documentation in IT systems.
  • Evaluate and improve commissioning concepts to increase quality, reduce costs, and shorten production cycle time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in automotive technology, electrical engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in automotive development, manufacturing engineering, production planning, vehicle diagnostics, or a related technical area.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, Java, or similar programming languages.
  • Knowledge of vehicle engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience providing technical guidance, aligning cross-functional teams, and troubleshooting vehicle systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment with strong communication and collaboration skills.
