German Localization Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the 0-to-1 setup and strategic planning of a full-scenario AI translation system covering product details, marketing campaigns, customer service communication, and legal terms.
• Drive the implementation and iteration of NMT and LLM translation models in business operations.
• Train, test, and fine-tune German translation models while building and maintaining high-quality German parallel corpora.
• Own project schedules, resource coordination, milestones, risk control, and delivery across algorithm, engineering, and business teams.
• Establish AI translation quality evaluation standards, including MQM, and manage Machine Translation Post-Editing workflows.
• Improve the German shopping experience by addressing consumer behavior, cultural expectations, privacy, and legal compliance.

Requirements

• Native German speaker with a strong foundation in German literature and culture, and the ability to identify local linguistic preferences and cultural taboos.
• English as a working language.
• Hands-on experience building AI translation models and localizing or implementing NMT and LLM systems.
• Knowledge of model training, corpus cleaning, and translation evaluation mechanisms.
• At least 3 years of project management experience with a record of delivering results under resource constraints and uncertainty.
• Strong cross-cultural collaboration, problem-solving, resilience, and self-drive in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
