Engagement Manager for Data Modernization (AI)

Location: United States — Remote; travel required for kickoffs, key milestones, and onsite working sessions 20–30% of the time.

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the data modernization engagement lifecycle from scoping and SOW alignment through kickoff, milestone delivery, reporting, and handoff.
• Serve as the primary contact for health system partners and run weekly status calls.
• Coordinate engineering, data mapping, cloud infrastructure, and client integration resources.
• Manage timelines, risks, dependencies, capacity, and resource conflicts across 2–3 concurrent engagements.
• Ensure clean handoff to the Client Integration team after modernization work is complete.
• Build and refine an engagement playbook for repeatable and scalable delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of experience in technical project or program management, professional services delivery, or technical consulting.
• Experience managing data platform, cloud infrastructure, or data integration projects.
• Technical fluency in Azure, Databricks, data pipelines, networking, and related infrastructure discussions.
• Strong communication skills, including status reporting, expectation management, and risk escalation.
• Ability to travel 20–30% for engagement kickoffs, key milestones, and onsite working sessions.

Nice to have

• Healthcare IT or health system experience, including familiarity with procurement and IT decision-making.
• Experience managing concurrent partner engagements with different timelines.
• Background in consulting, systems integration, or professional services.
• Experience building engagement playbooks and delivery processes from scratch.
• Experience with FHIR, Epic Clarity, or other EHR schemas.
