Import Team Leader (Logistics)

Location: Houston, TX 77032, United States; standard hours with additional time as necessary; travel to customer operational meetings is required.

What you will do

• Prepare and compile federal documentation required for the discharge of foreign cargo at domestic ports.
• Act as an intermediary between importers, carriers, transportation operators, and the United States Customs Service.
• Communicate shipment status and operational situations to management, steamship agents, airline agents, and customers.
• Maintain customer relationships and support sales calls for new and established customers.
• Prepare fee and duty rate quotes, open and close files, and manage invoicing.
• Supervise daily work, assist with outstanding account collection, and support training on customs issues and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of the transportation industry, import and global transportation, regulatory matters, and business development.
• Good communication and organization skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
• Ability to work on a team and provide leadership.
• Ability to learn and use various computer programs.
• Some college coursework completed.

Nice to have

• A college degree is preferred but not required.
• Leadership experience is strongly desired.
