Commercial & Contracts Manager

hirify.global develops commercially viable fusion power plants based on stellarator optimization, machine learning, and high-temperature superconducting magnets.

What you will do

• Lead the development and negotiation of owner-side contracts for the Alpha fusion demonstrator, including engineering, construction, plant, specialist consultant, and supplier agreements.
• Build the commercial management framework for change control, claims prevention, payment governance, and commitment tracking.
• Translate engineering scope into contract requirements and commercial terms.
• Coordinate commercial governance across infrastructure, plant, manufacturing, procurement, legal, and PMO workstreams.
• Support cost controls, financial reporting, commitment-register maintenance, and assessment of commercial impacts from scope or design changes.
• Monitor contract performance and escalate commercial risks across engineering and construction partners and key suppliers.

Requirements

• Experience in commercial and contracts management on major capital projects in industrial, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Familiarity with FIDIC, NEC/IPA, or equivalent contract frameworks.
• Experience coordinating commercial matters across multiple parallel project workstreams.
• Fluent German and English, written and spoken.
• Ability to work across engineering, legal, and procurement and identify contractual gaps and commercial risks.
• Structured, entrepreneurial approach with experience building governance in a lean, high-autonomy environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with early-stage programme development, Basis of Design, pre-FEED, or equivalent pre-construction phases.
• Familiarity with AI tools and digital working methods.
