Assistant Controller

Location: On-site in Broomfield, Colorado, United States; remote work may be approved for up to two days per week.

Salary: $136,000–$170,000 annually, including the bonus target.

What you will do

• Oversee and participate in month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis.
• Prepare U.S. GAAP financial reporting, consolidated statements, and footnotes.
• Support internal controls, SOX testing and remediation, audits, and accounting policy improvements.
• Provide financial information and variance analysis for budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
• Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, and other business functions on financial initiatives, system implementations, and process improvements.
• Mentor and develop junior accounting staff through leadership and hands-on coaching.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 8 years of experience in GAAP accounting, month-end close, project and cost accounting, fixed assets, reconciliations, and GL/AP/AR.
• At least 2 years of experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• At least 2 years of experience working for a publicly traded company.
• Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or a worker granted asylum or refugee status.
• Due to U.S. Government national security requirements, candidates must not be nationals of China or Russia unless also U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• CPA or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience with consolidated financial statements, SOX controls, SAP ECC, Workday Adaptive, Gov CAS accounting, AIS, or Big Four audit.
• Experience supervising or mentoring accounting professionals.
• Experience using AI tools, autonomous processing systems, P2P, OTC, and R2R process improvements, or new ledgers in S/4HANA.
