Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Linux (Robotics)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and maintain embedded ARM systems, including device trees, bootloaders, and kernel drivers.
• Design and maintain system flashing workflows for manufacturing and development.
• Design and maintain system and firmware OTA update processes.
• Customize vendor drivers for robotics applications.
• Develop high-quality, automated-tested software and support field testing and deployment.
• Mentor engineers and lead design reviews, code reviews, and technical planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one of Rust, C, or C++.
• Experience with Linux kernel development, U-Boot, EDK2, platform firmware, or UEFI.
• Good understanding of computer networking and strong cross-team communication skills.
• Ability to work from the San Francisco, CA location.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust.
• Familiarity with CUDA libraries and applications.
• Familiarity with the Nvidia Jetson platform.
• Familiarity with Wi-Fi protocols.
