Security Engineer

Location: Must be based in New York City (On-site, 5 days a week)

Salary: $160,000 – $265,000

What you will do

• Own the security posture of cloud infrastructure including AWS, EKS, Vercel, and Supabase.
• Build and manage detection and response capabilities for effective incident response.
• Design and operate secrets, credential, and access management architecture.
• Partner with engineering to implement secure-by-default patterns like IAM and network segmentation.
• Shape the security posture of the agentic AI platform as it evolves.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure security, security operations, or platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes security including RBAC, network policies, and admission control.
• Experience architecting effective D&R SIEM/SOAR systems.
• Real-world incident response experience as an individual contributor.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-security stakeholders under pressure.
• Pragmatic approach to balancing security, velocity, and developer experience.

Nice to have

• Background in defending or attacking AI/ML systems and agent infrastructure.
• Experience with endpoint security operations (EDR/MDR).
• Previous experience as the primary security hire at a small company.
