Security Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, United States

Salary: $200K–$350K annually, plus equity and bonus

What you will do

• Build systems that identify and respond to security events across cloud and production environments.
• Replace manual security workflows with programmatic, scalable solutions.
• Design access control, monitoring, alerting, and incident-handling systems.
• Integrate security checks into development workflows and secure AI data flows and model interaction layers.
• Develop human-in-the-loop systems for AI training and evaluation.
• Contribute to core infrastructure and internal tooling that support customers and model performance.

Requirements

• 2–7 years of experience building software or security systems.
• Strong programming ability in Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Experience with cloud environments, including IAM, networking, and containers.
• Ability to identify vulnerabilities in code and system designs.
• Experience building signal-based monitoring and alerting systems and owning production issues.
• Ability to work across security and general engineering in a fast-scaling environment.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AI systems, data pipelines, or model evaluation workflows.
• Familiarity with offensive security techniques.
• Experience building tools used by other engineers and shipping systems from zero to production.
