Head of Security (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY; onsite five days a week

Salary: $275,000–$325,000 base salary per year, plus equity and annual performance-based bonuses

What you will do

• Own the security function and act as the direct responsible individual for the security program.
• Set standards and operate security across application security, cloud infrastructure, IAM, vulnerability management, detection, and incident response.
• Build the security function from 0 to 1, define its strategy, and hire and develop the team.
• Lead customer security engagements with RIAs, broker-dealers, and global bank security teams.
• Own SOC 2, regulatory audits, the Trust Center, and security partnerships with Legal and Compliance.
• Lead incident response, communicate with clients, make decisions during incidents, and write postmortems.

Requirements

• Deep technical security skills, including the ability to read code, reason about AWS and Kubernetes architectures, threat-model systems, and build security tooling.
• Experience running a security program in fintech, trading, or financial infrastructure, with a high regulatory bar.
• Experience with enterprise security reviews for major financial institutions and confidence communicating with senior client security teams.
• Experience building a security function while contributing as a senior individual contributor.
• Hands-on security engineering experience in areas such as CSPM, IAM, application security, detection engineering, or incident response.
• Lead experience with a SOC 2 Type 2 audit and prior work at a core fintech infrastructure provider.
