Cloud Infrastructure Security Engineer (AWS)

Location: On-site five days a week at the Playa Vista, California office; must be a U.S. citizen.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annual base salary, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize secure cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Google Cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Implement cloud security frameworks, automated guardrails, and compliance controls for NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, DoD Impact Levels, and SCCA requirements.
• Configure IAM, RBAC, JIT access, key management, encryption, network segmentation, Zero Trust Architecture, and data protection controls.
• Deploy and optimize security tools including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, AWS security services, CSPM/CWPP solutions, and Elastic SIEM.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration-testing simulations, security reviews, audits, continuous monitoring, and incident investigations.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps, infrastructure, configuration management, and development teams to secure CI/CD pipelines, cloud migrations, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to work on-site five days per week in Playa Vista, California.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience.
• 5–9+ years of experience in cloud security engineering with hands-on AWS GovCloud, Azure, Google Cloud, or multi-cloud experience.
• Deep knowledge of cloud security, IAM/RBAC, encryption, network security, logging, monitoring, containers, and Kubernetes security.
• Experience with NIST, FedRAMP, RMF, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, threat intelligence, and security automation.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation and scripting in Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.

Nice to have

• CISSP, AWS Certified Security-Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Security certification, Security+, CEH, CySA+, GCIH, or related CSSP certification.
• Experience with Azure Sentinel, NESSUS, Burp Suite, Microsoft Defender, or equivalent tools.
• Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, GDPR/CCPA, or similar compliance programs.
