TL;DR
Continuous Improvement Specialist (Lean Six Sigma/Operations Analytics): Leading end-to-end process improvement initiatives in Tokyo with an accent on Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, KPI analysis, and sustainable operating standards. Focus on facilitating Kaizen workshops, building data-driven business cases, coordinating cross-functional projects, and improving efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness, and risk control.

Location: Onsite in Tokyo, Japan. Candidates must be authorized to work in Japan.

What you will do

  • Analyze end-to-end business processes using Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, and related continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead moderate-scope improvement initiatives and recommend sustainable, data-driven solutions for efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness, and risk control.
  • Plan and facilitate Kaizen workshops, coordinate cross-functional participation, and document outcomes, controls, standard work, SOPs, and process documentation.
  • Manage small to mid-sized projects, including scope, timelines, resources, milestones, risks, budgets, and competing priorities.
  • Define KPIs and performance measurement frameworks; prepare dashboards, analyses, business cases, and ROI estimates using operational and financial data.
  • Advise managers, communicate analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders, and support training and knowledge sharing on continuous improvement practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 2 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with limited professional experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred and required within a defined period if not already obtained.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and professional judgment skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Authorization to work in Japan is required.
