Electronics Manufacturing Engineer (Robotics)

Salary: $110,000–$145,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Review PCB layouts, footprints, stack-ups, and fabrication and assembly packages for DFM, DFA, and DFT issues before release.
• Run and maintain automated rule-based DFM checks using tools such as Valor, CAM350, or Allegro DFM.
• Own the in-house SMT/PCBA process, including stencil and paste, placement, reflow profiling, SPI, AOI, rework, changeovers, and new-board bring-up.
• Improve first-pass yield and reduce solder and assembly defects through root-cause analysis, 8D, 5-Whys, and process control.
• Partner with electrical engineering during NPI and serve as the manufacturing interface for external contract manufacturers.
• Bring up and debug boards, define test procedures, and help establish automated and functional testing as production scales.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 4+ years of electronics or PCBA manufacturing engineering experience with hands-on SMT line ownership.
• Demonstrated DFM/DFA expertise and experience reviewing real PCB designs and driving issues to resolution.
• Fluency with IPC-A-610, IPC-7351, IPC-2221, and J-STD-001 standards.
• Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, stack-ups, and complete release packages.
• Hands-on experience with SMT defects, DFM tooling, DFT, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and bench test equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Altium, Cadence/Allegro, KiCad, or comparable ECAD tools.
• Experience scaling an in-house SMT line or transitioning boards between internal and contract manufacturing.
• Automated or functional test experience with National Instruments, LabVIEW, Pico Technology, or equivalent.
• Background in robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical, or other high-reliability electronics.
• Lean/Six Sigma, SPC, ERP/MES, or PLM experience.
