Mechanical Engineer

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems through proposals, risk assessments, concept studies, detailed designs, analyses, drawings, prototypes, and tests.
• Size, calculate, and select components for enclosures, structures, mechanisms, automation, thermal management, optics, EMI shielding, and fluidic systems.
• Define mechanical architectures, component placement, CAD database management, platform standards, and mechanical BOM cost estimates.
• Plan and conduct engineering, characterization, cyclic, and reliability tests, including mechanical test cases.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, test, applications, hardware, firmware, software, production, supplier, design partner, and contract manufacturing teams.
• Lead root cause analysis, deliver product lifecycle documentation on schedule, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least 8 years of relevant mechanical design experience in an R&D environment.
• Experience with automation, mechanisms, injection-molded plastics, die castings, extrusions, elastomers, sheet metal, metal stampings, interconnects, electromechanical parts, and EMI shielding.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, leadership, communication, and planning skills.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
