Quantum Scientist - Applied QEC (Quantum Error Correction)

Location: Boston, MA, US; hybrid. The role involves occasional travel within the USA and to the UK.

Salary: $135,000–$170,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Design and execute quantum computing experiments with partners using varied qubit architectures and hirify.global’s DeltaKit software and tools.
• Support deployment of quantum applications and quantum error correction solutions into partner environments.
• Analyze experimental results, diagnose issues, and collaborate with research and product teams on resolutions.
• Contribute to internal research projects in quantum computing and quantum error correction.
• Present findings in customer meetings, workshops, conferences, and internal discussions.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Experimental Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Research experience in quantum computing gained in academia or industry.
• Experience designing, running, and analyzing experiments or simulations with research-grade tools.
• Interest in quantum error correction and applying research to real-world settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical presentations or discussions.
• Ability to collaborate with customers, partners, and interdisciplinary internal teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in quantum error correction research.
• Technical sales or external customer support experience.
