Quantum Engineer

What you will do

• Characterize experimental quantum devices, assess performance, identify improvements, and provide feedback to development teams.
• Lead an R&D focus such as gate calibration, qubit relaxation or dephasing, processor research, or quantum error correction.
• Implement measurement, calibration, error diagnostic, and system optimization techniques.
• Collaborate with device design, fabrication, electronics, cryogenic and microwave hardware, control systems, and software teams.
• Synthesize current research and translate experimental concepts into robust technologies for large QPU scales.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics or a similar applied scientific field, or a Master’s degree in Physics with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Demonstrated experimental problem-solving and research ability.
• Expertise in the practical implementation of coherent quantum effects and control.
• Proficiency using Python in a scientific context.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience calibrating and characterizing single- and two-qubit gates in superconducting quantum devices.
• Experience with quantum simulation frameworks such as QuTiP.
• Experience delivering and communicating innovative R&D initiatives.
• Software development experience in a collaborative industry setting.
• Previous technical experience in an industrial or startup environment.
