Software Engineering Specialist (PHP)

What you will do

• Write, test, document, and deploy software incrementally using agile practices.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and support complex design and architectural decisions.
• Continuously test and follow code through production, improving reliability and delivery quality.
• Develop internal tools that improve engineering workflows and team efficiency.
• Collaborate with Product, Finance, Risk, and Business Development teams on strategic projects.
• Evolve a high-availability payments platform handling 100+ TPS, built with PHP and MySQL.

Requirements

• Experience designing, implementing, and deploying software solutions to production.
• Strong understanding of data structures, concurrency, persistence, distributed systems, software quality, and system evolution.
• Expertise with Git or another collaborative version control system.
• Ability to learn new technologies, programming languages, practices, and engineering processes.
• English communication skills are required for customer support and technical specifications.
• On-site availability in Curitiba, Brazil.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of data warehouses, infrastructure automation, service provisioning, real-time systems, fault-tolerant systems, or mission-critical systems.
• Experience with computer networks, latency, packet loss, routing optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge, including data replication and reconciliation.
• Test-driven development, functional or logic programming, and distributed or asynchronous systems experience.
