Senior Software Engineer, Cloud (Backend/Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Drive the architectural evolution from hirify.global's custom .NET routing layer to a market-standard Service Mesh such as Istio.
• Design, build, and maintain network components handling millions of requests per second with very low latency.
• Maintain the availability, resilience, and performance of Ingress, DNS, Service Mesh, and CDN services supporting thousands of stores.
• Build scalable backend services and infrastructure tooling using strong service-design principles.
• Use AI for development, refactoring, testing, and documentation while applying sound judgment in critical infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers, document technical topics for varied audiences, and participate in hiring.

Requirements

• Strong backend or platform engineering experience with hands-on Kubernetes infrastructure operations.
• Experience designing and operating mission-critical, high-throughput systems processing millions of requests per second.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, service design, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, proxies, and microservices communication.
• Ability to work with complex legacy systems while building replacement infrastructure.
• Advanced English required for the global, remote-first environment.
• Clear communication of technical trade-offs across teams and with non-technical partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET and refactoring legacy routing systems.
• Familiarity with Service Mesh technologies such as Istio and Envoy.
• Fluent use of AI tools in engineering work.
