Quality Inspector (Metal Additive Manufacturing)

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States. Weekend night shift: Friday–Sunday and every other Thursday, 6:00 pm–6:00 am.

Hourly pay: $23–$38, plus a 15% differential for applicable shifts outside the standard base-pay shifts. Final compensation depends on level, skills, qualifications, and experience.

What you will do

• Perform first article inspections and routine dimensional and visual inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and advanced inspection systems.
• Verify that materials, equipment, processes, and products meet quality specifications and applicable safety requirements.
• Develop and validate inspection and test methods, inspection protocols, and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor and report quality metrics, perform audits and gap analysis, and support AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, customer, and regulatory compliance.
• Investigate production and product issues, issue nonconformance reports, and support MRB disposition, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with operations, manage daily priorities independently, and communicate identified nonconformances.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience performing part inspections with strong engineering drawing interpretation skills.
• Extensive knowledge of GD&T, AQL sampling, first article inspections, test method validation, and inspection method development.
• Experience in medical device, aerospace, or defense manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with CMMs, PCMMs, vision systems, profilometers, and blue light scanners such as Zeiss, Faro, or Keyence.
• Experience with root cause analysis, data analysis, troubleshooting, and inspection equipment troubleshooting.
• Self-motivated, hands-on approach with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
