Plant Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site at the manufacturing facility in Glen Cove, New York, United States

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year, plus equity and employee stock options.

Builds powerful, affordable industrial robots and is scaling its manufacturing and financial infrastructure following a Series C funding round.

What you will do

• Own plant financial reporting, monthly close, variance analysis, management reporting, and audit support.
• Lead facility budgeting and forecasting for labor, materials, overhead, capital expenditures, equipment, shifts, and headcount.
• Oversee standard costs, bill-of-materials cost accuracy, landed cost methodology, labor allocation, and manufacturing cost variance analysis.
• Manage inventory valuation, cycle counts, obsolescence reserve analysis, GAAP compliance, and audit readiness.
• Partner with Operations, Procurement, and the Plant Manager on cost drivers, vendor analysis, tariffs, duties, supply chain trends, and corrective actions.
• Present financial results and forecasts to senior leadership and provide financial training to plant operations staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 2 years in manufacturing or plant finance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory valuation.
• Experience partnering with plant and operations leadership in a dotted-line or matrix reporting structure.
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems, plus advanced Excel skills and the ability to build financial models and forecasts.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to work independently on-site while aligning with corporate Finance.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA credential.
• Experience with international supply chains, tariffs, and customs or duty considerations.
• Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed manufacturing or hardware company.
• Familiarity with standard costing in a multi-SKU environment with complex bills of materials.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
