Principal Edge Architect - Platform (NVIDIA Thor)

Location: Onsite five days a week at the Irving, Texas office; up to 25% domestic travel. Domestic relocation assistance is available, and visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.

What you will do

• Own the architecture strategy and roadmap for the edge platform running machine autonomy applications.
• Define compute, input/output, networking, memory, storage, runtime, diagnostics, monitoring, data logging, and transmission capabilities.
• Make platform tradeoff decisions across GPU and CPU performance, bandwidth, latency, power, thermal limits, reliability, serviceability, scalability, and cost.
• Align architecture across perception, robotics, machine platform, simulation, validation, safety, cybersecurity, operations, suppliers, and product teams.
• Define standard platform configurations for different machine types, sensor packages, autonomy feature levels, and deployment environments.
• Identify capability gaps and technical risks while driving platform improvements, supplier engagement, upgrade paths, and long-term edge compute strategy.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of platform architecture, data architecture, analytical thinking, communication, and organizational leadership.
• Strong experience designing edge compute platforms for autonomy, robotics, vehicle systems, industrial machines, or real-time embedded applications.
• Deep understanding of GPU, CPU, memory, storage, networking, input/output interfaces, sensor bandwidth, latency, power, thermal behavior, reliability, and serviceability tradeoffs.
• Experience with NVIDIA edge AI platforms and their software ecosystem, including GPU-accelerated inference and hardware/software optimization.
• Ability to define scalable platform configurations across machine types, sensor packages, autonomy functions, and deployment environments.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering, safety, cybersecurity, operations, supplier, and product teams.
