Materials Coordinator/Inventory Specialist

hirify.global provides staffing services and is offering a W2 contract role with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position.

What you will do

• Issue, receive, inspect, identify, sort, record, and store materials under proper authorization.
• Maintain material accountability records and operate inventory management terminals, printers, scanners, and other office equipment.
• Prepare and pack materials for shipment or storage, including shipping documents and hazardous materials such as gasoline, oil, PCB-containing oil, and lead-acid batteries.
• Operate hand trucks, forklifts, low-lift trucks, hoists, overhead cranes, order pickers, cars, and trucks as required.
• Maintain efficient storage layouts, including bin and rack rearrangements and material-location updates.
• Perform inventory cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and process approved adjustments.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in inventory control and management, material handling, warehousing, logistics, or a related field.
• Basic computer skills for inventory management software such as Maximo; Microsoft Excel and Word experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of shipping logistics and relocating inventory, plus basic math skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Valid state driver's license required; ability to operate motorized forklifts and road vehicles.
• Ability to safely lift up to 70 pounds and successfully complete the Physical Ability Test required. High school diploma or GED required.
