Equipment and Tool Installation Manager

Location: Benson, NC, United States; onsite with regular production-floor presence

What you will do

• Own the full installation lifecycle for rare-earth magnet processing equipment across three phases of facility build-out and production ramp.
• Engage OEMs during procurement, review installation and utility requirements, participate in FAT and pre-shipment reviews, and develop installation packages.
• Qualify, select, contract, and manage mechanical, electrical, piping, rigging, and OEM field-service contractors.
• Oversee equipment move-in, rigging, precision alignment, utility interfaces, and mechanical, electrical, and piping hook-ups.
• Maintain installation schedules, coordinate concurrent contractors and OEM teams, track risks, and drive issue resolution.
• Own punch-list closure and support Site Acceptance Testing before commissioning and handover to production.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in industrial equipment installation, capital project execution, or manufacturing startup.
• Experience managing installation contractors across mechanical, electrical, and/or piping scopes, including qualification, scope definition, and performance oversight.
• Direct experience with Site Acceptance Testing or commissioning complex industrial or process equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and utility layouts.
• Experience coordinating OEM vendors, general contractors, and internal engineering teams in a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong knowledge of site EHS requirements, including LOTO, hazardous energy control, and contractor safety management.

Nice to have

• Greenfield facility build-out or manufacturing site startup experience through production handover.
• FAT, SAT, and OEM engagement experience during equipment procurement.
• Degree or equivalent training in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or process engineering.
• PMP, OSHA 30, or rigger certification.
• Experience building or scaling an installation function, including standards, vendor selection, and team onboarding.
