Acoustic Systems Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Garching, Bavaria, Germany; Business Campus Böblingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany; Karlsbad, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Regular travel to customers and other hirify.global sites is required.

What you will do

• Tune non-branded audio systems for automotive OEM projects across multiple platforms and tools.
• Prepare technical requirements, presentations, project documentation, and reporting.
• Provide technical support and guidance for customer and interdepartmental initiatives.
• Develop and document audio tools and best practices in an international environment.
• Plan and manage customer projects while aligning internal and external stakeholders.
• Support mechanical work, including disassembling and mounting loudspeakers, amplifiers, and head units; prepare audits and transport vehicles between customers and the car lab.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field, or a Tonmeister degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in automotive or consumer audio systems, sound tuning, or related audio fields such as studio, mixing, or recording.
• Strong knowledge of acoustics, sound reproduction, loudspeaker design, and audio system development.
• Hands-on experience evaluating sound quality and experience in acoustical engineering, transducer engineering, DSP, amplifier engineering, psychoacoustics, or recording arts.
• Familiarity with audio tools and product development best practices; algorithm development or programming with MATLAB, C, or C++ is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and project management skills, with the ability to support technical and creative solutions.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly and a valid driver’s license.
