Senior Software Engineer, Accounting (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Hybrid in New York City, NY or San Francisco, CA; in-office attendance required at least 2 days per week.

Salary: Base salary starts at $200,000+ annually, plus benefits and equity.

What you will do

• Model financial workflows and convert complex fund data into accurate, automated financials.
• Build scalable accounting infrastructure for front-end financial reporting and back-end general ledger operations.
• Design systems that maintain data integrity and produce reliable, audit-ready outputs across a growing number of funds.
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, and tax stakeholders to automate manual operational processes.
• Own features end to end and contribute to improved self-service experiences for venture fund customers.

Requirements

• Senior back-end engineering experience with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar MVC frameworks.
• Ability to work with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL, including complex and critical financial data.
• Experience or strong interest in fund accounting, transaction processing, and general ledger systems.
• Ability to contribute to frontend development with React and TypeScript.
• Willingness to work in the New York City or San Francisco office at least 2 days per week.
