Senior Software Engineer I (Fullstack)

Location: San Diego, United States; hybrid work schedules are offered.

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 annual base salary, excluding other compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect, design, and develop secure, scalable, and maintainable RESTful API endpoints.
• Build dynamic, responsive web applications in collaboration with frontend engineers, product managers, and UX designers.
• Define data models and database schemas while managing relational and NoSQL databases for integrity and performance.
• Document application architecture, design, configuration, and maintenance procedures.
• Estimate tasks, contribute to sprint planning, and participate in the on-call rotation to maintain production stability.
• Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement within the engineering organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience working with medium or large complex codebases.
• Full-stack development experience with Java, Go, or Python.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with React, Angular, Ember, Jest, Babel, and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of UI/UX principles, databases, cloud technologies, and containerization.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and independent-working skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or three years of proven experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, or Jenkins.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe or Scrum.
• Experience supporting e-commerce, digital commerce, or direct-to-consumer platforms.
• Exposure to personalization, recommendation engines, customer identity management, subscriptions, digital payments, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
