Head of Quality (Robotics)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; travel to customer and supplier sites up to 25% as necessary

What you will do

• Build the quality function from the ground up, including strategy, standards, and stage-gate controls.
• Establish quality assurance across system design, supply chain, manufacturing, installation, and support.
• Close the design-to-field feedback loop with Hardware Engineering and Fleet Operations.
• Standardize workflows across the value stream and implement processes that improve consistency and efficiency.
• Define and roll out quality metrics that give Operations a real-time view of where quality is created and lost.
• Launch the function as a team of one and build a quality team 6–12 months into the role based on business needs and progress.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on experience building a quality assurance function rather than only administering a mature function.
• Deep understanding of new production development and ramping from first builds to volume production.
• Expertise in root-cause analysis and process improvement, including Lean Six Sigma, PFMEA, APQP/PPAP, and stage-gate quality.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders at executive level.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer and supplier sites.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of OEM or Tier 1 automotive quality experience.
• ISO 9001 experience.
