Forward Deployed Software Engineers (AI)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid, with 3+ days per week in the office and travel to key customers as needed

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 per year plus equity

hirify.global is a startup building AI-powered software that replaces legacy systems for municipalities and counties, streamlining government services such as permits and licenses.

What you will do

• Unblock complex enterprise deployments by diagnosing technical and workflow issues, including migrations from legacy systems.
• Partner with Sales and Deployment on late-stage deals and provide technical feasibility guidance to senior municipal stakeholders.
• Travel to complex or high-value municipalities to understand constraints and accelerate execution.
• Build targeted code or configuration when needed while identifying opportunities to productize bespoke fixes.
• Translate recurring enterprise requirements into scalable abstractions and influence the core product roadmap.
• Use engineering judgment to decide when to build, configure, or push back and protect the platform from fragmentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack or forward deployed engineer in a production SaaS environment.
• Strong coding ability in TypeScript, Node, or a similar technology.
• Experience with customer-facing deployments, integrations, or migration-heavy environments.
• Strong product judgment and the ability to make build, configuration, abstraction, and prioritization decisions.
• Executive-facing communication skills, including credibility with municipal CIOs and department heads.
• Comfort operating under ambiguity and owning high-impact, revenue-sensitive problems.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a startup environment and moving quickly without over-engineering.
• Experience with React, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, RedwoodJS, AWS, or the OpenAI API.
