TL;DR
Senior Attorney – Corporate Law (Aerospace/Defense): Supporting government contracts, corporate governance, compliance, and strategic transactions for reusable hypersonic aerospace test platforms with an accent on FAR/DFARS, aerospace and defense agreements, export controls, and data rights. Focus on negotiating complex contracts, advising on IPO readiness and financing events, and building scalable legal processes for a regulated technology environment.

Location: Mojave, California, or remote within the United States. Travel is expected to be less than 5%. U.S. citizenship may be required for positions involving government clearance or other restricted work.

Salary: $180,800–$237,300 per year

What you will do

  • Provide practical legal support across government contracting, commercial agreements, corporate matters, compliance, and operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate U.S. Government prime contracts and subcontracts, OTAs, BAAs, CRADAs, teaming agreements, NDAs, MOUs, and commercial and supplier agreements.
  • Advise stakeholders on FAR/DFARS compliance, contract formation, flowdowns, changes, claims, disputes, intellectual property, data rights, and audit exposure.
  • Support export-control, cybersecurity, regulatory, and compliance matters involving ITAR, EAR, CUI, NIST 800-171, and related obligations.
  • Assist with corporate governance, board materials, entity management, policies, legal diligence, disclosure preparation, and strategic transactions.
  • Partner with executive leadership, supply chain, finance, HR, engineering, and program teams while managing outside counsel and developing scalable legal processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience supporting government contracts and corporate matters.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Demonstrated experience with U.S. government contracting, including FAR/DFARS, prime contracts, subcontracts, and solicitation or proposal review.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, space, or another highly regulated technology sector.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, issue-spotting, risk-assessment, and business-judgment skills.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice to have

  • In-house legal experience at an aerospace, defense, government-technology, public, or pre-IPO company.
  • Experience with IPO readiness, securities-law support, disclosure controls, governance, financings, or strategic transactions.
  • Knowledge of OTAs, export controls, trade compliance, government-contracting cybersecurity, intellectual property, and technical-data rights.
  • Active security clearance and the ability to operate independently in an evolving organization.
