Robotics Solutions Architect (Robotics)

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Travel requirements: 30%. Applicants must be eligible for required U.S. export authorizations.

Salary: $187,000–$270,700 USD per year for the Bay Area, California, with additional incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Define end-to-end robotics architectures spanning sensors, perception, localization, planning, control, and actuation.
• Design Sense–Think–Act pipelines with strict latency and deterministic processing requirements.
• Evaluate hardware and software partitioning across CPU, GPU, and FPGA platforms.
• Lead technical engagements, translate customer requirements into architecture proposals, and deliver system recommendations and executive briefings.
• Drive proof-of-concept development, performance validation, and robotics demonstrations with engineering teams.
• Analyze market trends, define robotics solution stacks, develop reference architectures, and contribute to technical materials.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in robotics, AI systems, or solutions architecture.
• Strong expertise in robotics systems and AI/ML for robotics.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2, real-time control systems, deterministic processing, end-to-end robotics control loops, world modeling, point cloud generation, and motion planning.
• Experience with the Physical AI SDK and familiarity with sensor fusion, localization, control loops, VLA models, and VLM models.
• Eligibility for required U.S. export authorizations is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience with FPGA platforms, including RTL and HLS.
