TL;DR
Robotics Architect (Clouds) (Robotics/Cloud): Defining and leading architectures for complex robotics systems, autonomous platforms, and FMS/WMS integrations with an accent on vendor-neutral interoperability, cloud/IoT ecosystems, and robotics communication standards. Focus on translating testing objectives into production features, validating digital-twin simulations, and leading delivery from proof of concept through commissioning.

Location: USA; remote/office work, with on-site commissioning in the Pacific Northwest from September 2026.

Salary: $76,800–$96,000 annually

What you will do

  • Define and own technical architectures for mobile robots, AMRs, robotic arms, drones, autonomous turret trucks, palletizers, and other robotics systems.
  • Design scalable FMS/WMS integration frameworks and vendor-neutral interfaces, including VDA 5050-compliant and non-compliant environments.
  • Define GUI requirements for operator control, system monitoring, and workcell management, while maintaining integration specifications and onboarding materials.
  • Translate testing objectives into feature requirements, collaborate with test engineers, and support architecture reviews, system integration testing, and deployment readiness.
  • Lead delivery from proof of concept to production, including simulation and validation with Isaac Sim and Gazebo, and participate in on-site commissioning.
  • Conduct client workshops and architecture presentations while coordinating delivery across AI, cloud, embedded, product, and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Robotics or a related field.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodology, requirements traceability, test planning, acceptance criteria, validation reporting, and web or desktop GUI specification.
  • Experience with FMS/WMS integration, autonomous robots, VDA 5050, ROS2, vendor protocols, and multi-vendor or multi-robot environments.
  • Understanding of cloud and IoT platforms, including AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as industrial and embedded ecosystems and security protocols for multi-vendor data and messaging.
  • Experience with SLAM, sensor fusion, control systems, real-time computing, and hardware-software co-design.
  • Strong technical communication, stakeholder management, technical pre-sales, mentoring, architecture review, and code or deliverable assessment skills; willingness to work on-site.

Nice to have

  • Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim APIs for digital-twin visualization.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
