Principal Digital Architect (Robotics Platform)

Location: Full-time onsite work at the Irving, Texas office five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $159,120–$258,570 per year.

What you will do

• Define and deliver the end-to-end software architecture for the robotics platform, including middleware, runtime, inter-process communication, platform services, and compute architecture.
• Develop detailed architecture deliverables, technical infrastructure designs, roadmaps, APIs, standards, and reference designs.
• Define onboard, edge, and cloud compute architectures, real-time execution models, resource management, and deployment approaches for autonomous machines.
• Evaluate and deploy technologies that enhance digital capabilities, including GPU-accelerated compute and containerized platforms.
• Collaborate with autonomy, controls, machine learning, simulation, and data engineering teams to integrate perception, planning, controls, and machine platforms.
• Provide strategic technical direction, govern technology decisions, and influence senior leaders across multiple engineering organizations.

Requirements

• Progressive experience in software engineering and architecture at a senior or principal level, focused on robotics or platform software.
• Strong experience architecting robotics middleware, runtime, inter-process communication, and platform services such as ROS 2 and DDS.
• Experience with onboard, edge, and cloud compute, real-time execution, GPU-accelerated computing, resource management, and containerized deployment.
• Knowledge of autonomous systems software integration across perception, planning, controls, and machine platforms.
• Experience with Agile SDLC in public cloud environments, test automation, peer review, CI/CD, environment management, and resource optimization.
• Excellent communication skills, including mentoring, coaching, and influencing teams on technical decisions.
