Metallographic Lab Technician - Weekend Day (Metal Additive Manufacturing)

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; onsite. Schedule: Friday–Monday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Hourly pay: $26–$38 per hour, plus a 5% differential for applicable shifts outside standard base-pay shifts.

What you will do

• Prepare metallic samples through sectioning, grinding, polishing, and etching.
• Image samples for engineering analysis and reporting.
• Provide documented metallography results and laboratory support to Materials and Process Engineering teams.
• Organize and maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and workspace through inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance.
• Follow company, departmental, and safety procedures in an industrial environment involving mechanical equipment and chemicals.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working in a laboratory setting.
• Experience performing laboratory analysis and testing.
• Experience in metallography, metallurgy, or materials science.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, organizational skills, and three-dimensional visualization ability.
• Ability to recognize the full color spectrum and other visual qualities through a microscope.
• Knowledge of safe chemical storage and handling.
